Carbon/aluminum arrow point can be of two types, Glue-In and Screw-In:
The Glue-In tips have the stem made to fit and be glued perfectly on the rod, while the diameter of the ogive covers the diameter of the rod at the base of its spine.
The material used for their construction must be of the highest quality to avoid the strong stresses when hitting the targets and the bending during the arrow's strike from damaging the tip. Moreover, Tipping Point has developed a particular shape of the stem much more resistant to strong bending of the shaft.
The Screw-In points are screwed onto a insert glued on the shaft, so it is very important that it fits perfectly the shaft being used while the point diameter must cover the insert collar.
To prevent the point from being unscrewed during shooting, an OR system has been designed that acts as friction between the point and the insert.

At the base of a good arrow point there is experience and a lot of study. Starting from an idea, we at Tipping Point develop all our points on 3D models, study the possible issues and process products that could solve them. Experience also gives us the ability to identify the right construction limits to obtain a product that is always up to the challenges it will face.
To elaborate the work carried out in the PC. we proceed to the creation of models with extremely precise numerical control machines that allow us to maintain tolerance and finish at the highest levels. What is certain is that without the expert hand of those who have been equipping and monitoring our machines for ten years, technology in itself would be useless. This is why we invest every day in the development of new production methods and in the training of highly qualified personnel.
Perfectly smoothing out the surface also allows us to improve in terms of aerodynamics. We are also keen on bringing the good name of Made in Italy up with our high quality work, and also in the appearance of the finished product. For this reason, each point is treated superficially with a tumbling process that will smooth the material and eliminate all the micro surface imperfections
Materials are of paramount importance for us at Tipping Point, we are always looking to exceed our expectations and, behind it all, there is an almost obsessive search for high performance materials. All points for carbon rods are made of high quality pre-hardened stainless steel, this allows the points to be particularly resistant while maintaining the right ratio of flexibility required to respond to strong stress.
Just being sure of the control of all the production processes is not enough for us, for this reason we carry out continuous tests on the carbon arrow tips we make. Material hardness, finish control, construction limits testing and weight controls are carried out on each lot, we have also formed our Pro Staff who give us essential feedback on the behaviour of our points during the entire flight phase. Thanks to the Pro-Staff every new product is tested and improved before being put into production.
